Korean Film in Global Attention 'Spring in Seoul'

The Korean movie Spring in Seoul is based on a real incident on Dec. 12, 1979, when Chun Doo-hwan and his party staged a military revolt.

Plot Summary :


On December 12, 1979, security commander Chun Doo-kwang (Jeon Doo-hwan) mobilized private organizations inside the military and even brought troops from the frontline DMZ to Seoul, causing a coup.

A fierce confrontation takes place for nine hours between Chun Doo-kwang's rebels, who are blinded by power, and the suppression forces, including Capital Security Commander Lee Tae-shin (Jang Tae-wan), who fought against them.

Lee Tae-shin tries to stop the rebellion by mobilizing the army against Chun Doo-kwang's power.
The ending is a historical event, and as we already know, Lee Tae-shin's defense fails.
